Size Limits

What is the maximum size of a Pedigree database?

There are two limits, which apply individually to each record-type
in a Pedigree Database (Person, Marriage, Source...). Firstly,
the maximum number of records is 32767, including any records deleted
in the current session.

Access Denied

Depending upon the circumstances, the inability to gain access to a database may be reported as DOS Error 5 or Runtime Error 105.
The usual reason is that
the database has been copied from a CD-ROM, perhaps to recover a back-up copy. You can use Windows Explorer or MS-DOS
commands to correct this.

The usual reason is when the the initial steps have lead to the Import display

reasons for this:

GEDCOM files provide a means of transferring Family History information between databases. The
databases involved may be managed by programs from Pedigree Software, or from other suppliers.
GEDCOM files are produced by exporting them from a program. To use them, they must be imported.
